Fish Hill Tower, Broadway

Merlyn Evans (1910–1973) was born in Cardiff, and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and the RCA. He spent time in Paris in the 1930s and was influenced by a number of avant-garde artists. In 1936 he participated in the International Surrealist Exhibition. He taught in South Africa before the war and then was stationed in Africa, Syria and Italy. From 1952 he taught etching at the Central School of Arts & Crafts and did exhibition work.
