Although Greeves made motorcycles for only twenty years from 1952, its machines were very prominent in competitions, especially trials and motocross. The design of the frame's cast was unusual: a light-alloy front down member and rubber bushes controlling front fork suspension.

Major successes were achieved in motocross during the early 1960s and this model is similar to that used by Dave Bickers to win the European Moto-Cross Championships in 1960 and 1961.
