This machine is one of the first two Lambrettas to be imported into England and started a remarkable run of popularity over the next twenty years. It was developed from the Italian army's wartime scooter by Innocenti. Civilian models were soon to be given elegant styling, which made for strong appeal with lady riders.
Engineering quality was of a high standard. As with its major competitor, Vespa, larger capacity and more elaborate models appeared and production under licence was started in other countries.
