Designed by America's Carl A Neracher in 1920, the Ner-a-car was novel for its hub-centre steering and low build, which gave remarkable stability and allowed the use of efficient mudguards.
The original two-stroke engine lacked power and the friction-drive transmission gave problems. Later, models enjoyed some initial popularity but its odd appearance was a disadvantage and production stopped in 1927.
