The Atlantic was designed with the American and overseas markets very much in mind, in a period when exports were a priority.
This semi-sports car made quite an impact on its introduction; the Autocar Road Test said, 'It is one of a select band of "star" cars produced since the war, of outstanding merit and appeal'. The Atlantic's engine, later used on Austin-Healey, could easily cruise at 70mph.
