Famed for spring frames and use of JAP V-twin engines, the BAT motorcycle was created by T.H. Tessier, who rode such a machine in the first TT race of 1907. The initials BAT stand for Best After Tests. Introduced in 1912, the sidecar model was specially strengthened for heavy work. This 5/6hp chain-driven combination features a sprung sub-assembly carrying the saddle and footboards, forward link-type front forks and an effective foot-starter. The rear wheel, along with clutch and brake controls, is designed for easy removal.
