The two-speed chain-cum-belt drive flat twin Douglas was made from 1910 until 1925 with only minor changes. The 2¾hp 1913 Model R was the deluxe version and featured a foot-operated clutch and a kick-start. These have both been removed from the machine shown. The large outside flywheel was claimed to reduce vibration and increase flexibility. This motorcycle belonged to the late Graham Walker. It has successfully competed in the Epsom to Brighton Pioneer Run for many years.
