A class B single cylinder traction engine no. 5431, fitted with David Greig's patent improved spring wheel, built by Fowler in 1888. The idea of sprung wheels occupied attention for several years, but it is doubtful that the added cost, weight and maintenance was justified since the majority were discarded by the end of the decade.
