The Fowler Album

This outstanding leather-bound album from the early 1900s, depicts Fowler Steam Engines. It has recently been catalogued by a team of volunteers and staff, making it available for viewing for the very first time.

An A class A4 5 ton crane equipped compound road locomotive No. 7861. This was completed by Fowler on 8 July 1898 for A.R. McKenzie & Co. of Cape Town, South Africa. It was during the last decade of this century that crane engine design developed into final form as illustrated on this machine.
