Lambretta Li 150

On Display

Motor scooters became popular as an economic form of personal transport from the late 1940s onwards. Italian scooters were amongst the most successful; Piaggio launched the ‘Vespa’ in 1945 followed closely by Innocenti with the Lambretta in 1947.

Scooters became iconic symbols of 1960s youth culture. One special edition of the Li 150 was named the ‘Pacemaker’ in Britain after Gerry and the Pacemakers appeared in the advertising. The actress Jayne Mansfield also featured in Lambretta marketing material.
