The Flying Lady exhibition originally went on display in Palace House, home of the Montagu Family during 2011. The exhibition celebrated the centenary of the creation of the famous Rolls-Royce mascot, the Spirit of Ecstasy, as well as its connections with the Montagu family. On display were original artworks and ephemera rarely seen in public.
The official opening of the exhibition took place on the 5th May 2011. Among the guests present were representatives from Rolls-Royce, members of the Montagu family and Richard and John Moorby, grandsons of Eleanor Thornton and John Montagu
