From 1926 to 1932, the ‘Quick Starting Pair’ also known as ‘The Perfect Power Pair’ series used a variety of themes to represent the reliability and power of using Shell’s products simultaneously. A sporting theme incorporated images of rugby, polo and hunting. Jean D’Ylen’s mechanical horses were also a regular feature in the campaign. Perhaps the most memorable feature of this campaign was the use of wildlife to express the strength of Shell’s products when used concurrently. Animals in the series include: otters, kingfishers, cheetahs and crickets.
