Accessibility

These are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about accessibility.

The majority of the Beaulieu attraction is fully accessible and the site frequently audited on a regular basis. The National Motor Museum is part of the attraction and is accessible.

As certain buildings are listed at Beaulieu, it isn't possible to undertake alterations that would undermine their historical integrity. In these cases, accessibility trained staff at Beaulieu will be happy to offer visitors with restricted mobility a substitute viewing experience or assist in the facilitation of their visit.

Visitors with disabilities (or their carers) are encouraged to download Beaulieu's Access Statement, which describes in detail the facilities and services we offer across the attraction as well as key information to help you plan your visit.

We have a limited number of manual wheelchairs and electric scooters available to hire, free of charge. These are subject to availability and it is advisable to book these in advance by calling 01590 614646 between 10:00am – 5:00pm. Please note that to ensure the safety of visitors, the use of personal customised mobility vehicles is at our discretion.

There are no steps to the main entrance of the museum. A side entrance is available to access the lower floor of the museum, and lifts and ramps are available to access the upper galleries.

In the wider Beaulieu attraction, a DVD tour is available to show the upper floors of Palace House and views from the Monorail for people who cannot access these areas. Speak to a member of staff for more information.

Large print visitor information is available on arrival. There are induction loops in key areas of the attraction, and transcripts available to supplement the content of film and video presentations where these are unavailable.

There are a number of wider parking spaces for Blue Badge holders adjacent to Visitor Reception. There are three sets of disabled toilets across the site.

Whilst we generally don't permit dogs in the museum, assistance dogs are welcome and can be used to access all areas of the site. Visitors wishing to bring a working dog onto the Monorail should first seek assistance from a member of staff.

If you have any queries regarding our facilities and services ahead of your visit please contact us on 01590 614646 or email visit@beaulieu.co.uk.
