Motoring Research Service

The Motoring Research Service responds to enquiries relating to all aspects of motoring history and provides access to the National Motor Museum's Collections.

We provide access to the reading room for those wishing to undertake their own research using material from the Motoring Archives and our world famous Motoring Reference Library. We can assist with enquiries by post and email but for more complete research we recommend that you make an appointment to visit our Reading Room.

Visiting the Reading Room

The Reading Room is available for those who wish to visit us to conduct their own research. Please telephone or email to arrange an appointment at least 24 hours in advance.

Opening Times

The reading room is open by appointment at the following times:

Monday to Friday: 10.00am – 13.00pm & 14.00pm – 17.00pm

Using the Motoring Research Service

We offer a correspondence service for enquiries unable to visit the Reading Room. Please contact us by letter or email in the first instance and we will advise you whether we are able to assist. Please note that we don't not accept telephone enquiries. We endeavour to answer enquiries promptly.

Charges

We do not make a formal charge for the use of our reading room or for the majority of research requests that we undertake. The National Motor Museum Trust is a registered charity and we invite you to make a donation to our funds to whatever vale you many consider appropriate for the work that we have undertaken.
