National Motor Museum at The Overland Event 2025
12 September 2025
The final weekend of August saw the overland motorcycle community gather at the Hill End Outdoor Centre near Oxford for the Overland Event. Over the last decade this three-day event has established a reputation as one of the most welcoming and inclusive motorcycle events on the calendar, attracting motorcycle travellers from all over the world and raising money for good causes.

Round the World Bantam
The National Motor Museum were delighted to once again support the Overland Event’s bike exhibition by lending the 1965 BSA Bantam ridden by the late Mary Sievier on her round the world travels between 1967 and 1976. Mary’s Bantam has a very special place in the history of the Overland Event as it was there in 2021 that she presented the story of her adventure to an audience for the very first time, her achievement having gone largely unnoticed when she returned to the UK in 1976. Mary also attended the 2022 Event, after which she generously placed the BSA on loan to the Museum. Sadly, Mary passed away in September 2023, managing a flying visit to that year’s Overland Event in her final weeks, bequeathing her Bantam to us in her will. Therefore, it was only right and proper that we lend the bike to the Overland team for display again in this year’s bike show.
Farewell Rhonda the Honda
Also on display was Rhonda the Honda, the CRF250L that Steph Jeavons used to complete a 74,000 miles circumnavigation between 2014 and 2018. After returning to the UK Steph visited the National Motor Museum to give a talk about her adventures and generously placed Rhonda on loan to us. After six years Steph decided that she’d like to take Rhonda back to Wales with her so, after the Overland Event closed, the world’s most famous CRF 250L was loaded into a van to travel to her new home at Steph’s Moto Camp Wales base near Dolgellau. The National Motor Museum would like to thank Steph for all the support that she has given to us over the last few years, including three presentations in addition to the loan of Rhonda.
