Trim Lizzie 1

Trim Lizzie

08 January 2026

We welcomed Lizzie Paton to the Museum workshop this week.  Known as TrimLizzie, she is a custom vehicle and boat upholstery and repair specialist.

The traditional upholsterer is based in Hamptworth in the North New Forest and was at Beaulieu to work on the 1903 Daimler. The veteran car is regularly used on the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, and Lizzie used her skills to maintain the car’s upholstery, hand stitching the rotted stitching. Some of the stitches have had UV light damage and the work is essential for conservation of the car.

Lizzie also made repairs to hood retainer straps on a Mercedes where stitching had become rotten.
