SUNBEAM 1000hp Restoration Campaign
Thank you for donating to the Sunbeam 1000hp Restoration Campaign to hear the engines roar again and see the car displayed in the USA and in Great Britain! The fundraising restoration campaign launched by the National Motor Museum Trust to raise funds for the restoration has reached its goal, but you can still support the Museum to raise funds to enable the Museum to undertake further restoration projects, and deliver high-quality learning, educational and community initiatives.
The National Motor Museum has successfully restored the Sunbeam 1000hp World Land Speed Record vehicle. Our aim now is to return the car to Daytona Beach for the 100 year anniversary of Sir Henry Segrave’s 203.792 mph land speed record on March 29th 2027.

Sunbeam 1000hp in the USA
The Sunbeam 1000hp World Land Speed Record Breaking vehicle is heading to the USA to make its post-restoration debut.
The rear engine roars again!
The engine roared again! The rear engine of the World Land Speed record breaking Sunbeam 1000hp was started for the first time in 90 years in the grounds of the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. The car was the first to break the 200 mph barrier in 1927, and it is being restored by the Museum's workshop team. Starting the rear engine is a major milestone on the road to restore the vehicle in time for the 2027 centenary celebrations.
