Sunbeam 350hp Blue Bird
The Sunbeam 350hp is an aero-engined car built by the Sunbeam company in 1920. Major Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE named the car Blue Bird and driving it at Pendine beach in Wales on 21 July 1925 raised the World Land Speed Record record to 150.766 mph (242.628 km/h), the first time a car had exceeded 150 mph (240 km/h). Now part of the vehicle collection at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, we are celebrating this feat of British engineering and the centenary of the 150mph World Land Speed Record in 2025.
The Sunbeam 350hp Blue Bird was a finalist in the Car of the Year category of the International Historic Motoring Awards 2025.
