The Beast of Turin

Duncan Pittaway in the Beast of Turin car

Saturday 11 December 2021

Please note this event is now at full capacity. Thank you.

Join the Friends of the National Motor Museum for an evening with the amazing Beast of Turin and its charismatic owner, Duncan Pittaway. Experience the Beast, up close (well not too close to those incredible open exhausts) and discover the reasons for its existence, the staggering statistics, and so much more.

Despite the possibly unfriendly climate in December, Duncan will be arriving in the Beast, in his words “come rain or shine”. It will be parked just outside the entrance to the Museum and before the evening talk, the Beast will be fired up for a visual and aural experience you will not want to miss! Bring an umbrella just in case!

Then in the Lecture Theatre, located in the Collections Centre, the Beast’s owner will entertain and educate us (unscripted of course), augmented with pictures and film before letting you, the audience, have your own questions answered.

It promises to be a “one off”, but as we take Covid and your safety very seriously, we will be strictly limiting numbers so all can be certain social distancing is maintained in the Lecture Theatre.

Please note:  You will need to arrive no later than 7-00pm to book in at the Collections Centre before walking down to the Museum entrance for the start-up. Parking will be in the visitor car park.  Remember to bring your camera!

Tickets are £7.50 for members of the NMMT, £10.00 for non-members. For further information and to book tickets please contact Theresa Browning by email or telephone 01590 614792.  Tickets will be emailed.

A pay bar will be available in the Collections Centre for the purchase of drinks. Please pay by card where possible.
