George Denholm Armour (1864–1949) was an animal painter and cartoonist born in Lanarkshire. He studied at the University of St. Andrews and the Edinburgh College of Art. As well as producing a series of horse themed posters for Shell, Armour also produced work for The Graphic, Punch and Country Life.
