Abram Games OBE (1914–1996) was born in Whitechapel and studied at St Martin’s School of Art. Initially he worked in a commercial art studio, later becoming freelance and designing posters for many organisations including London Transport, the GPO and the Co-operative Building Society. From 1941”“1946 he was an official poster designer for the public relations department in the war office and designed famous posters such as Your Talk May Kill Your Comrades. He lectured in graphic design at the Royal College of Art and received several awards including an OBE in 1958.
