Troy Bayliss won the second of his three Superbike World Championships with this bike, finishing 5th and 1st in the two races at Imola, Italy in October 2006. Bayliss won 12 of that season’s 24 races, including a run of eight consecutive wins. He also collected five pole positions and ten fastest laps.

The World Superbike Championship is contested on race-tuned versions of road legal superbikes. Ducati has been a dominant force since the championship began in 1988 with famous riders such as Carl Fogarty and Troy Bayliss. Xerox sponsored the Ducati Xerox Superbike factory team for six seasons, during which time they won 45 races and two championships.
