The F4 1000S is a litre capacity sports bike introduced in 2004, developed from a family of race proven, four-cylinder MV Agusta motorcycles produced from 1999 onwards. Chassis design and styling were by renowned Italian designer Massimo Tamburini, who’s other work includes the Ducati 916.

MV Agusta was founded by Count Domenico Agusta in 1945, as an offshoot of the Agusta aircraft company. The Count remained in charge until his death in 1980. The marque was revived by the Castiglioni family, owners of Cagiva, in 1990 and ownership has changed hands several times since. MV Agusta were successful on track in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, winning 270 Grand Prix races and numerous World championships with famous riders such as John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini.
