Since it began producing motorcycles in 1901, NSU had been one of Germany’s most respected manufacturers with a reputation for technical advances.

As well as small capacity machines such as this type, much larger models were marketed as early as the 1920s. Notably in the 1950s, the firm earned fame in contrasting areas: through big sales of 50cc Quickly mopeds and in racing and record breaking. The NSU title is drawn from the name of the town where the factories have always been situated.
