National Motor Museum Publishing

Our collections can inspire authors and provide unparalleled access to motoring history resources. We are looking for great book ideas to collaborate on.

The aim of National Motor Museum Publishing is to tell the story of motoring with captivating stories and compelling illustrations. Using the Museum’s expertise in motoring history and its extensive archive of photography, film, and publication, the publishing arm encourages new authors and helps commit untold histories to print.

Our first book, Goldie - The amazing true story of Goldie Gardner, the world’s most successful speed-record driver by John Mayhead, was published in October 2023.

With a forward by The Duke of Richmond, Goldie tells the story of Goldie Gardner who overcame his war injury to become one of the most successful racing drivers and a prolific speed-record holder. Goldie is the first book about this unsung hero since his autobiography in 1951. It contains new, previously unseen photographs and information from various archives and interviews and puts a new perspective on the life of this enigmatic hero.

Goldie may be purchased from all good bookstores, online retailers and, in person from the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
