“Transmission” contemporary art show opens at Beaulieu
12 June 2026
A contemporary art show featuring the work of French artist Alan Reullier has opened at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in the New Forest.
The bright and contemporary artwork includes blueprints of old Land Rover, Triumph and Mini vehicles turned into contemporary pop art pieces.
The exhibition is open at the National Motor Museum’s In Focus Gallery until the 7 February 2027.
An event at the Museum was held yesterday where Alan Reulllier introduced the exhibition and National Motor Museum Chief Executive, Jon Murden and President, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, congratulated the artist.
Reullier has used the blueprint drawings to create pop art pieces celebrating Britain's motoring legacy. The colourful exhibition showcases and celebrates the artistry of classic car design, with visitors able to view and buy the one-of-a-kind artwork. Limited edition prints of some of the pieces will also be available to purchase. Alan’s agent Edwina Lightfoot says, “Alan is an industrial artist who has worked with aerospace firms. His background as a former graffiti artist can be seen in the artwork with its bold patterns and colours around the prints and his signature black-and-white motifs.”
Alan Reulier says, "I'm inspired by the chance to push the boundaries of automotive design and create something unique that resonates with all audiences. My exhibition at Beaulieu is dedicated to the history of the British motor industry and forms part of a broader reflection on the circulation of knowledge, industrial memory and the transmission of forms.”
Andrea Bishop, Director of Collections at the National Motor Museum says, “We are delighted to have an opportunity to showcase Alan’s vibrant and innovative artworks. Reimagining and transforming heritage into art, they challenge our perceptions of significance.”
The exhibition is open every day (except Christmas Day) and is included in the Beaulieu admission ticket. Tickets are available at https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/ and further information is available at nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/
About Alan Reulier
Alan Reullier is a French multimedia artist whose work bridges the space between art, engineering and cultural heritage. Alan started his artistic journey as a graffiti artist in the back streets of the northern suburbs of Paris. It was here that he developed an early sensitivity to space, signs and trace. As a chief mechanic in the French Navy, notably aboard aircraft carriers, he worked at the core of complex systems whilst at the same time creating his art within the ships and military bases. From this experience Alan realized that artistic material could come from industry. His work is orientated toward the recycling and giving waste materials a second life, reimagining objects not just as art but as “stories of memory, innovation and reinvention.”
He has exhibited in many diverse venues, including the Sorbonne in Paris, the Royal Automobile Club in London, The French Consulate London, the military airbase in Tours and the International Paris Airshow Le Bourget. He has also exhibited in galleries in Paris, Morocco, Belgium, Italy, Birmingham and London.
