Alan Reullier

Alan Reullier is a French multimedia artist whose work bridges the space between art, engineering and cultural heritage.  Alan started his artistic journey as a graffiti artist in the back streets of the northern suburbs of Paris. It was here that he developed an early sensitivity to space, signs and trace. As a chief mechanic in the French Navy, notably aboard aircraft carries, he worked at the core of complex systems whilst at the same time creating his art within the ships and military bases.

From this experience Alan realized that artistic material could come from industry. His work is orientated toward the recycling and giving waste materials a second life, reimagining objects not just as art but as “stories of memory, innovation and reinvention.”

Pitch-up and Carry On – caravans in wartime Britain

Previous exhibition

During the Second World War, caravans became more than just a leisure escape—they were a lifeline. As Britain braced for war, caravans provided shelter for evacuees fleeing the Blitz, mobile command posts for military strategists, and vital support units for the Red Cross and Civil Defence.

This exhibition explored the remarkable role of The Caravan Club and its members during the war, highlighting stories of resilience and ingenuity.
