Andrew Johnson studied at Central School of Arts & Crafts. He worked for various advertising agencies in the 1920s and 1930s and designed posters for LNER, Lever Brothers, Lux and The Times. In the 1930s he designed posters for Moss Bros and brochures for the Legal & General Assurance Company.
