Cathleen Mann (1896–1959) was the daughter of Scottish portrait painter Harrington Mann. She studied at the Slade School and in Paris. Mann exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters with several one man exhibitions at London galleries. During World War II she was an official war artist, employed mainly as a portrait painter. After the war she was influenced by the painter Matthew Smith (her portrait of him is in the National Portrait Gallery). Her best known work was done in the last ten years of her life.
