Eric George (1881–1961) was an undergraduate at Oriel College, Oxford, and went on to study at the Westminster School of Art and the Académie Julian in Paris. He was known mainly as a painter of portraits and figure designs in oil. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Modern Society of Portrait Painters and the New English Art Club.
