A revived Triumph Motorcycles Ltd. launched its T300 range in 1991, using a new ‘modular’ engine design across several models. The T310 Daytona Super III followed for the 1994 model year, a lighter, more powerful 900cc machine with an engine developed in conjunction with Cosworth Engineering. Carbon fibre was used extensively for fittings, including the silencers. Just 805 Daytona Super IIIs were built up to 1996.
Triumph Engineering went into receivership in 1983. Property developer John Bloor acquired the Meriden factory site along with the Triumph name and manufacturing rights. A new company was created, and a new range of motorcycles developed. Production started at a purpose-built, state of the art factory at Hinckley, Leicestershire, in 1991.
