In 1999 Ford acquired the Stewart Grand Prix team that had been founded by three-time World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart and his son Paul. The team was renamed Jaguar, the famous British marque being, at that time, owned by Ford. Jaguar’s first Grand Prix appearance was at the 2000 Australian GP, the Ford Cosworth V10 powered cars being driven by Eddie Irvine and Johnny Herbert. The Jaguar was developed over the following years with the R5 being campaigned in the 2004 season by Mark Weber and Christian Klein. Webber met with some success, finishing in the points on four occasions. At the end of the 2004 season Ford sold the Jaguar team to Red Bull. As Red Bull Racing the team have gone on to multiple World Championship titles.
